At 16:59 you can still eat.

Plenty of kitchens in the centre stop at four. Ours runs straight through from 10:00 to 17:00, with no midday break and the whole menu available. At 16:59 you can order eggs Benedict, a sando or a burger exactly as you would at eleven in the morning. And if you arrive later, cakes, coffee and drinks carry on until 17:30. The room closes at 18:00.

Questions

Where can I eat late in Madrid, at four or five in the afternoon?
At Frutas Prohibidas the kitchen runs straight through from 10:00 to 17:00, with no midday break. At 16:59 you can still order any dish on the menu. We are at Calle Conde Duque 26, in the centre.
What time do you close exactly?
The kitchen closes at 17:00. The bar carries on until 17:30 with cakes, coffee and drinks. The room closes at 18:00.
Is there a queue at that hour?
Almost never. The queue is concentrated on Saturday and Sunday between 11:30 and 14:30. From 15:30 you normally walk straight in on any day.
Is the menu shorter in the afternoon?
No, it is the same one. There is no afternoon menu and no reduced menu: what is published on this site is what we serve from opening until the kitchen closes.
Can I arrive at 17:15 for lunch?
The kitchen has already closed by then, so we cannot serve you a hot plate. You can still have cake, coffee, juice or any drink until 17:30. If you are cutting it fine, message us on Instagram and we will tell you how the room looks.
Are you open on Mondays?
No. We open Wednesday to Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Same place, different hour

Frutas Prohibidas has been a brunch spot in Madrid since 2016, and the afternoon menu is exactly the brunch one: the same eggs Benedict, the same pancakes, the same sandos. The only difference is that at four there is a table free.
